DC Samba chairs NCORD meeting

SAMBA, MAY 29: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma on Monday chaired a meeting of the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) District Level Committee.

 

The meeting reviewed the action taken by the stakeholder departments in response to the decisions reached at the last meeting and to develop an action plan to end the drug trade and nuisance in the district.

 

The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police, Benam Tosh; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rakesh Dubey; ACR Kusum Chib; Assistant Drug Controller, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Tehsildar Headquarter, SDM’s, SHOs, and Dy. Commandants from BSF.

 

During the meeting, the officials discussed different agenda points, including holding of Information Education and Communication activities, Installation of information/feedback boxes for confidential information in educational institutions, Activation of Youth Club and Social Organization, functioning of drug de-addiction centers, Inspection of Pharmacist/chemist Shops, working of the control room, and enforcement drives.

 

In order to completely eradicate the drug problem from the district, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of involving youth and social organisations.
