JAMMU, NOVEMBER 22: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today directed Deputy Commissioners to expedite the land passbook distribution in the districts.
He was chairing a meeting of Deputy Commissioners to review the Revenue related issues in the districts of Jammu division.
The meeting was attended in person by Assistant Commissioners, Pritam Lal Thappa, DC Stamps and other concerned officers, while the Deputy Commissioners along with ACRs, and other concerned officers participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
Threadbare discussions were held on the important issues, while the Div Com reviewed in detail status of delineation of Gair Mumkin Khad, retrieval of Roshni land, eviction of encroachments on state/ common land, generation and distribution of land passbooks, land issues of industries, stamp duty rates and other revenue matters.
The Div Com directed DCs to expedite the restoration of Roshni land, retrieval of government land and eviction of encroachments by setting Monthly targets. He further asked them to take measures to keep a check on fresh encroachments in the districts.
“Hold meetings with Tehsildars and fix targets for eviction of encroachment and ensure no re-encroachments on retrieved land takes place,” he instructed.
The Div Com also emphasized to expedite the process of delineation of Gair Mumkin Khad land and said ‘the progress will be reviewed fortnightly and no laxity will be allowed in this matter.’ He also directed concerned DCs to submit reports to his office at the earliest.
Regarding distribution of land passbooks, the Div Com took strong note of slow progress in some districts and directed the concerned DCs to expedite generation and distribution. He also advised to distribute passbooks electronically as well as hard copies among the legal land owners.
The Div Com also asked DC Jammu and Kathua to identify suitable land for FCI Godowns.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the revision of stamp duty rates and instructed DCs to start revision of stamp duty rates at Sub Division and district level.
