Doda hosting Lavender Festival on June 4; District admin starts preparations

BHADERWAH, MAY 30: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda,Vishesh Mahajan today chaired a meeting to discuss and review the arrangements for Lavender festival being held at Bhaderwah on 4th of June 2023. He also discussed the activity plan for celebration of International Yoga Day.

 

It was informed that the Lavander Festival Function shall be held at Bhadarwah Campus on 4th June and International Yoga Day on 21st June 2023 at Jai Valley Bhaderwah. A large number of people including high level dignitaries are expected to visit Bhaderwah during these events.

 

The meeting decided that a colourful cultural programme shall be held at the community Hall and the artists of the District shall be invited to participate in it.

 

Threadbare discussion was held with regard to the venue, decoration of stage, safety and security measures, traffic management, parking facility, lodging of the guests, besides availability of other essential services on the scheduled days and dates.

 

The DDC directed ADC Bhaderwah and other concerned officers to work in coordinated manner to make the programmes a grand success and memorable. The concerned were directed to take the step forward and ensure checking of Hotels, Guest Houses etc in the Bhaderwah, besides ensuring the cleanliness of municipal area, roads, streets and venue of programme. It was also decided that International Yoga Day (IYD) shall be held at Jai valley on 21st and BDA authorities were directed to ensure cleanliness of the venue with respect to plastic and other waste materials.

 

The DDC Doda asked the SSP Doda to ensure adequate arrangements of security and also guide ARTO and traffic police for maintenance of parking for vehicles.
