SEP 30: The District Level Kala Utsav 2025, organised under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha, was held at Doda Town Hall, showcasing the artistic talent of schoolchildren from across the district. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 170 students representing 10 educational zones, who mesmerized the audience with performances across diverse art forms including singing, dancing, instrumental music, and visual arts (2D/3D painting).

The programme was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Harvinder Singh, who lit the ceremonial lamp in the presence of District Education Planning Officer, Programme Officer ICDS, Chief Planning Officer, and Principal GHSS Girls. The students participating had qualified at the zonal level events, demonstrating high levels of skill and creativity.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Harvinder Singh appreciated the Education Department for nurturing young talent and providing them with platforms to shine. Programme Officer ICDS Akhter Hussain Qazi, the Guest of Honour, also encouraged the participants and lauded their outstanding performances.

The festival, organised in line with Samagra Shiksha norms, aims to celebrate and promote India’s rich cultural diversity while giving students opportunities to showcase their creativity. Winners of the district-level competition will now represent Doda at the Divisional Level Kala Utsav scheduled in Jammu.

The event was conducted under the supervision of the Cultural and Educational Wing of the School Education Department, with Principal GHSS Girls serving as the Nodal Officer and Teacher Manzoor Ahmed as the District Coordinator. The day-long celebration concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners were felicitated by the DDC and District Education Planning Officer.
