NOV 10:LG Manoj Sinha expressed his pleasure in visiting the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where he delivered the Convocation Address and interacted with graduating students, faculty members, and dignitaries. In his address, the Minister emphasized the critical role of engineers and technologists in shaping a future-ready, sustainable, and inclusive society.
Congratulating the graduates on embarking upon a new journey, Shri Sharma highlighted that technological innovation and ethical engineering practices form the backbone of modern development. He encouraged young engineers to approach their professional lives with a sense of responsibility toward both humanity and the environment, ensuring that technology serves as a tool for equitable and sustainable progress.
The Minister underlined the need for engineers and tech experts to navigate evolving technological landscapes such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, digital transformation, and climate adaptation with foresight and adaptability. “Engineers must not only solve present challenges but also anticipate future ones, designing solutions that are resilient and inclusive,” he said.
He further urged students to integrate innovation with empathy, stressing that technological advancement should always be guided by human values. Addressing the faculty, Shri Sharma commended NIT Raipur for nurturing a generation of thinkers and creators capable of driving India’s growth in the Amrit Kaal towards a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
The Minister also spoke about the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, research excellence, and entrepreneurship in contributing to national progress. He encouraged students to explore new frontiers in green technologies, sustainable infrastructure, and digital empowerment to meet the complex global challenges of the 21st century.
Concluding his address, Shri Sharma expressed confidence that the young graduates of NIT Raipur will emerge as leaders of innovation, upholding India’s values while driving its technological and economic transformation.
