Flood-Hit Jammu: Minister Sharma Reviews Relief, Meets Victims

AUG 31: In the aftermath of the recent floods that have severely impacted parts of the Jammu district, Minister Satish Sharma undertook an extensive tour of the affected areas to personally assess the damage and monitor the ongoing relief and restoration operations. During his visit, he interacted with several flood victims, listened to their concerns, and assured them of the government’s unwavering support in this difficult time.

Minister Sharma reviewed the status of relief measures currently underway and directed officials to prioritize the swift restoration of damaged roads to ensure connectivity and accessibility, particularly in the worst-hit areas. He emphasized the urgent need to maintain an uninterrupted supply of essential commodities, including food grains, clean drinking water, and vital medicines, to prevent further hardships for the affected population.

Highlighting the importance of timely rehabilitation, the Minister called for a detailed and comprehensive assessment of the losses suffered by individuals and communities. He instructed concerned departments to carry out proper surveys so that compensation and rehabilitation efforts can be implemented without delay.
