Forest Department Kathua kick-starts month long LiFE Mission Campaign

KATHUA, MAY 08: Department of Forest, Ecology & Environment, District Kathua, in collaboration with District Administration Kathua, organised an awareness rally here today as a part of one Month long “LiFE Mission Campaign-2023”.

 

The rally was attended by about 300 participants consisting of students, Youth and staff of the Forest Department.

 

Speaking on the occasion, DFO Kathua, Khalid Amin Mehta & Wild Life Warden Kathua Vijay Kumar Verma, highlighted the “LiFE Mission Campaign” announced by the Prime minister of India Sh. Narendra Modi. They said it focuses on bringing individual behaviors at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. They underlined that Mission LiFE inspires us to do all that can be done in our daily life to protect the environment and believes that the environment can be protected by making changes in our lifestyle.

 

All the participants were encouraged to contribute in the campaign with their respective capacities by adopting simple changes in their life which eventually will have a positive effect on the health of the environment. Further, it was informed that a month-long action plan has been formulated under the campaign wherein various activities shall be organised throughout the district by all the wings of the Forest Department under the guidance of HODs of all the wings of Forest Department and under the overall supervision of Principal Secretary to Govt. Deptt. of Forest, Ecology & Environment.

 

A Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) Pledge by committing to consciously participate in taking up the environmental lifestyle and inculcate long term environment- friendly habits was also taken by all the participants before the start of the rally.

 

The Vote of thanks was given by DFO Billawar Vivek Modi.

 

The programme was attended by Munish Bhardwaj DFO Social Forestry, Kathua and other officers/ officials of all the wings of the Forest Department.
