JUNE 05: Marking the completion of 11 years of the Modi Government, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh hailed the period as a time of visionary leadership, structural reforms, and transformative governance. In an official statement, Dr. Singh described the past decade as having redefined India’s development narrative and significantly strengthened public trust in government institutions.

“The past 11 years have been about bold decision-making, futuristic reforms, and a long-term vision for a self-reliant and globally competitive India,” said Dr. Singh. He pointed to landmark initiatives like GST, Digital India, and the opening of strategic sectors such as space and atomic energy to private participation as examples of the government’s commitment to national progress.

Highlighting the evolution of India’s science and technology sector, the Minister noted that areas once limited to elite institutions—such as space tech, atomic research, and biotechnology—are now touching the lives of everyday citizens. Space technology, once synonymous with rocket launches, is now empowering sectors like telemedicine, agriculture, and education. “Science has moved from labs to lives,” he remarked, citing weather-based farming advisories and satellite-enabled online classrooms.

Dr. Singh emphasized the success of people-centric initiatives like the JAM trinity (Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile) and the Swachh Bharat Mission, both of which brought governance closer to the grassroots and transformed public behavior. He called Swachh Bharat a movement that reshaped the national mindset toward cleanliness and civic responsibility.

Administrative reforms were also central to his remarks. The Minister underscored the impact of Mission Karmayogi, a capacity-building initiative that has introduced a cultural shift in governance by promoting performance-based assessments and allowing lateral entries into the bureaucracy.

He also detailed the achievements under Special Campaign 4.0, which focused on improving workplace efficiency and sustainable waste management in government offices. Through this campaign, departments cleared file backlogs, recycled e-waste, and freed valuable office space—turning “waste into wealth” and instilling systemic discipline.

Social welfare efforts were highlighted, including new pension provisions for remarried widows and divorced daughters—reflecting the government’s continued commitment to inclusivity and dignity for all citizens.

Summing up the government’s journey, Dr. Singh said, “This is a government that thinks decades ahead while delivering results today. We are witnessing a true transformation—scientific, administrative, and social.”
