MARCH 4:The Government College of Education (GCE), Jammu, successfully inaugurated a five-day Civil Defence Training Program, aimed at equipping students with crucial disaster preparedness skills and emergency response techniques. This program is part of an ongoing initiative to promote awareness and readiness among students, empowering them to handle unforeseen emergencies effectively.
The inaugural session was graced by the esteemed presence of key figures including Chief Warden Paramjeet Kumar, Deputy Chief Warden R. Vijay Magotra, Training Incharge SI Ram Dayal Saini, and Training Instructors Rajinder Kumar and Sujeet Singh. Their expert guidance and practical demonstrations provided participants with invaluable insights into the key aspects of civil defence and emergency management. The hands-on training approach ensured that students gained practical experience in handling real-life emergency situations.
The event was meticulously organized under the leadership of NSS Programme Officer Professor Sarita Dogra and Women Development Cell Convenor Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, who worked collaboratively to ensure a smooth and informative training experience. The Principal of the College, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, was also present during the inaugural session, along with faculty members Dr. Rajinder Kour, Dr. Davinder, Professor Deepali, and Roopa Kumari. Their support and encouragement played a vital role in motivating the students to actively participate in the training program.
Over 100 students enrolled for the program, demonstrating their keen interest in learning life-saving techniques. The training program covers various critical aspects, including first aid, fire safety, disaster management, and emergency evacuation procedures. Through these sessions, students are being trained to respond swiftly and effectively to natural and man-made disasters, ensuring their readiness to help their communities in times of need.
Speaking at the event, Principal Dr. Jyoti Parihar highlighted the significance of Civil Defence training in empowering youth with the necessary skills to respond to emergencies. She praised the efforts of the Civil Defence team, the faculty, and the organizers for making the training program a success. Dr. Parihar also emphasized that this initiative would help students become proactive, responsible citizens who are prepared to face any crisis with confidence.
The program will continue for five days, fostering a sense of preparedness and resilience among the students, and is expected to have a lasting impact on their ability to handle emergency situations efficiently.
