UDHAMPUR, MAY 29: To celebrate World Environment Day 2023, the NCC unit (1 J&K Girls Battalion NCC, Srinagar) of Govt. College for Women, Udhampur is organizing a series of activities with the support and guidance of the College Principal Prof. Anjali Mahajan under the Mission Life (Lifestyle for Environment), G-20 and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
In continuation to the series, the College NCC unit organized a symposium on the theme ‘Plastic a Bane for Future’ to generate environmental awareness.
As many as 17 NCC cadets actively participated and highlighted the various harmful effects of plastic in our day-to-day life. They also discussed the hazardous impact of plastic on marine/aquatic life and on animal health. Since plastic is a non biodegradable item, so it also causes harmful effects to environment.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by corporal Manvi Singh and Cadet Kritika Thakur. Principal of the college appreciated the NCC cadets for participating and celebrating the Mission life campaign with great enthusiasm.
The faculty members present in the event were Sarika Mahajan, Assistant Professor of Electronics, Dr. Meena Gupta, Assistant Professor of English, Roopa Kumari, Assistant Professor of Education, Arti Gupta from department of Music.
