NOV 08: The Indian Navy will mark Navy Day 2025 with a spectacular Operational Demonstration on December 4, 2025, at Shangumugham Beach, Thiruvananthapuram.

Continuing its initiative to hold Navy Day celebrations beyond major naval stations, the event follows previous editions in Puri (Odisha) and Sindhudurg (Maharashtra). The mega event will offer citizens a rare opportunity to witness the Navy’s multi-domain operational prowess, underscoring its role as the ‘Preferred Security Partner’ in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), guided by the vision of MAHASAGAR — Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions.

The demonstration will feature coordinated manoeuvres by frontline surface, sub-surface, and aerial platforms, showcasing India’s maritime strength, technological excellence, and readiness to secure national interests across the maritime spectrum.

Reflecting the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the display will highlight indigenously built naval assets, symbolizing India’s growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The event will also revisit the Navy’s operational readiness as displayed during Operation Sindoor, reaffirming its capacity for precision, speed, and dominance.

Navy Day commemorates the heroic achievements of the Indian Navy during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, particularly Operation Trident, when Indian missile boats struck Karachi harbour, delivering a decisive blow to enemy defences.

The Operational Demonstration 2025 will celebrate the Indian Navy as a Combat Ready, Cohesive, Credible, and Aatmanirbhar Force, steadfastly safeguarding the nation’s seas for a Viksit and Samriddha Bharat.
