MAY 16: Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh delivered a powerful address to Indian Army personnel stationed at Badami Bagh Cantonment, Srinagar, reaffirming India’s unwavering commitment to national security and the new strategic doctrine against terrorism.

Speaking to the soldiers, the Defence Minister underscored the paradigm shift in India’s counter-terrorism policy under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. “The Prime Minister has redefined India’s stance—any terrorist attack on Indian soil will now be treated as an act of war,” Shri Singh declared, receiving resounding applause from the ranks.

While reiterating India’s firm belief in peace and diplomacy, Raksha Mantri noted that this commitment should not be mistaken for weakness. “India has always pursued peace and never supported conflict. But when it comes to defending our sovereignty, our response will be decisive and proportionate,” he said.

Shri Singh delivered a stern warning to Pakistan, urging its leadership to dismantle the terror infrastructure operating from its territory. “If Pakistan continues to aid and abet terrorism, it must be prepared to face severe consequences,” he asserted, stressing that India will not hesitate to act when provoked.

The Raksha Mantri also praised the bravery and dedication of Indian Army personnel deployed in Jammu and Kashmir, calling them the guardians of the nation’s integrity. He said that the country draws strength from their courage and sacrifices, and assured them of the government’s full support in their mission to safeguard the borders.

He further emphasized the importance of readiness, vigilance, and morale in the current security scenario, adding that the armed forces represent the steel spine of India’s defense preparedness.

The Defence Minister’s address comes amid heightened tensions along the Line of Control and renewed global focus on cross-border terrorism. His statements reflected the government’s assertive posture on national defense and its zero-tolerance policy toward terror networks.

As his visit concluded, soldiers expressed deep appreciation for the minister’s motivational words and his recognition of their service in one of the most sensitive regions of the country.
