District Administration Jammu Conducts IEC Campaigns under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan
Jammu, April 18: The District Administration Jammu, under the leadership of District Magistrate Sachin Kumar Vaishya, conducted a series of awareness programmes across various urban local bodies as part of the ongoing IEC campaign under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan.
A major event took place at Community Hall, Ward No. 10, Mill Area, R.S. Pura, coordinated by Naib Tehsildar Sushil Kumar Sharma. The programme saw participation from over 250 individuals, including students, teachers, social workers, and residents, focusing on educating the public about the risks and impact of substance abuse.
Key speakers included SHO R.S. Pura, who outlined legal provisions under the NDPS Act, Dr. Ruchika Raina from the Health Department, who spoke on the health impacts of drug abuse, and Lecturer Sohan Singh Chib, who discussed addiction causes and rehabilitation. Social activists Satpal Pappi and Shashi Uttam stressed the importance of community engagement and sports in prevention efforts.
Participants also took a pledge to stand against drug abuse and spread awareness within their communities.
Similar programmes were held at Mahajan Hall Akhnoor, Ramleela Ground Gangyal, and Ghou Manhasan, featuring expert talks and street plays that drew positive public response.
