Jammu Minister Satish Sharma Hosts Public Darbar, Announces New Services for Khour Block

MARCH 24:Minister for FCS&CA, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Information Technology, Science and Technology, ARI and Trainings, Satish Sharma today presided over a Public Darbar at Sainth, aimed at addressing the grievances and developmental concerns of the local population. The initiative was a part of the government’s commitment to ensuring transparent governance and facilitating direct interaction between the people and the authorities.

During the Darbar, the locals presented a range of issues and demands. Among the major concerns raised were the construction and upgradation of link roads, compensation for affected individuals, mining-related issues, and the repair of irrigation canals. The people also voiced their concerns regarding irregular water and power supply, the need for lane drains repairs, inclusion and deletion in ration cards, and the upgradation of schools and healthcare centers in the area.

The Minister listened to each grievance with patience and attention, ensuring that the concerns were heard thoroughly. He issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for immediate redressal. Emphasizing the importance of transparency and accountability in governance, Satish Sharma urged the officers to conduct field visits and ensure that the grievances were addressed effectively and in a timely manner.

On the occasion, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for the people of Jammu & Kashmir by providing better facilities at their doorstep. As part of this commitment, he announced that trials for Driving Licences (DL) and Fitness Certificates would be introduced in the Khour Block. Additionally, a separate slot for Khour will be created on the online portal for the convenience of the local population.

In response to concerns about ration cards, the Minister assured the people that the process for separation, inclusion, and deletion in ration cards would be initiated soon to resolve this genuine public issue. He emphasized that the government is focused on improving the accessibility of essential services and addressing the needs of the people at the grassroots level.

Satish Sharma also stressed the need for swift resolution of grievances related to welfare schemes and public utilities, particularly for the underprivileged and marginalized communities. He made it clear that the government’s prime objective was to provide relief to the poor, downtrodden, and needy, ensuring their access to the benefits of various welfare schemes.

The Darbar was attended by senior officers, including RTO Jammu Jasmeet Singh, SDM Satish Kumar Sharma, Tehsildar Ranjit Singh, BDO Sahil Abrol, and other senior officials from line departments. A large gathering of locals was also present, highlighting the strong community engagement in the initiative.
