APRIL 20: As part of the preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025, the Labour Department has officially launched the registration process for all service providers intending to participate in the annual pilgrimage.
To facilitate a smooth and hassle-free registration process, a dedicated helpdesk-cum-registration counter has been established at the Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Labour Sarai, Dogra Hall, Jammu. This initiative is aimed at streamlining the enrollment of various categories of service providers who play a vital role in the successful conduct of the Yatra.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Jammu, Ms. Rupali Jasrotia, has appealed to all individuals providing essential support services—particularly ponywallas, palkiwallas, pithus, and hawkers—to come forward and complete their registration well in advance. She emphasized that early registration will not only ease the administrative burden but also ensure better planning and coordination ahead of the Yatra season.
The registration is being conducted free of cost, with applicants only required to present valid identity proof for verification. This user-friendly process has been designed to be both efficient and accessible, allowing service providers from various parts of the region to register without difficulty.
The Labour Department has highlighted the crucial role these service providers play in supporting pilgrims along the challenging Yatra route. From transporting devotees on ponies and palanquins to assisting with loads or selling essential goods, these individuals contribute significantly to the comfort, convenience, and safety of the pilgrims.
Officials have strongly urged all intending service providers to avoid delays and register within the stipulated time frame. Timely registration will help prevent last-minute rushes and confusion, while also enabling authorities to finalize logistics and resource allocation more effectively.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to ensure a safe, secure, and well-organized Yatra experience for all stakeholders—pilgrims, service providers, and administrators alike. By encouraging systematic registration, the Labour Department aims to enhance the overall efficiency and quality of services provided during one of the most significant annual pilgrimages in India.
The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 is expected to witness a large turnout, and the administration is working proactively to put all necessary arrangements in place to ensure its smooth conduct.
