Jammu, September 14, 2026: Jammu has recorded a significant improvement in the latest Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan, securing the 20th position nationally in 2026, an impressive rise of 18 places compared with its 2023 ranking.
The city’s CPCB score has reached 176.5 in 2026, reflecting progress in efforts aimed at improving air quality and strengthening measures for cleaner and healthier urban surroundings.
The latest achievement highlights Jammu’s continued focus on air pollution management and sustainable urban development. The improvement in ranking also points towards the impact of measures being undertaken to address factors affecting air quality in the city.
Three Jammu Wards Receive State-Level Recognition
Adding to Jammu’s achievement, three municipal wards—Greater Kailash, New Plot and Bhagwati Nagar—have also earned recognition at the state level.
The recognition of these wards highlights the role of local communities and urban administrations in supporting cleaner neighbourhoods and improving environmental conditions.
