MAY 26: Minister Javed Rana visited Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu to enquire about the condition of civilians injured in the recent ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district. Among the injured was the father of 13-year-old twin siblings, Zain and Zoya, who tragically lost their lives during the shelling by Pakistan. The attack has left the region in grief, with the incident drawing widespread condemnation and sorrow.
During his visit, Minister Rana met with the injured victims and their families, expressing deep sympathy and solidarity. He offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the young siblings and assured that the government stands firmly with them during this unimaginable loss. The minister emphasized that no act of violence can ever be justified, especially when it claims the lives of innocent children.
Speaking with hospital staff, the minister took stock of the medical treatment being provided to the injured. He instructed doctors to ensure the best possible care for all those affected and emphasized the importance of immediate and quality medical attention for the victims. He also interacted directly with family members, listening to their concerns and assuring them that all necessary support would be extended by the administration.
Javed Rana reiterated the government’s commitment to the safety and welfare of border residents who live under constant threat due to cross-border hostilities. He strongly condemned the unprovoked shelling by Pakistani forces and stated that such acts of aggression only deepen the wounds of communities already living in tense conditions.
The minister also spoke about the need for long-term measures to secure border villages and provide relief and rehabilitation to families affected by repeated ceasefire violations. He acknowledged the courage and resilience of people living near the LoC and promised that their sacrifices and sufferings would not go unnoticed.
