June 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha convened a high-level meeting with prominent political leaders today at Raj Bhawan Srinagar to review and discuss the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, scheduled to commence on July 3, 2025.
The meeting aimed at fostering a spirit of collective responsibility and coordination across party lines to ensure the smooth, safe, and spiritually fulfilling conduct of the annual pilgrimage. The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the Yatra is not only a religious journey but also a vital symbol of Jammu and Kashmir’s cultural and spiritual fabric, which requires unified support from all stakeholders.
Political representatives from across the region appreciated the administration’s efforts and assured full cooperation in maintaining peace and communal harmony throughout the pilgrimage. Discussions focused on security arrangements, logistical preparedness, pilgrim facilities, and emergency response measures, given the heightened sensitivities and recent incidents in the region.
LG Sinha reaffirmed that all necessary steps are being taken in coordination with various departments and agencies to ensure that the pilgrims have access to medical aid, uninterrupted supplies, accommodation, and enhanced communication facilities throughout their journey to the holy cave.
He further appealed to all political leaders and local representatives to play a proactive role in encouraging public cooperation, reinforcing trust, and helping dispel misinformation that may hinder the Yatra’s progress.
The meeting reflects the administration’s commitment to conducting the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra in a manner that upholds safety, religious freedom, and the region’s enduring tradition of hospitality.
