Doda, Jammu & Kashmir:

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha led a major anti-drug rally in Doda under the ongoing ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir’ campaign, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to dismantle drug networks and their alleged links to terrorism.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor warned that drug trafficking is increasingly being used as a tool to fund terror activities in the Union Territory. He stressed that breaking the nexus between narcotics and terrorism is crucial for ensuring long-term peace and stability in the region.

Calling for collective public action, he urged citizens, especially the youth, to actively participate in the fight against drug abuse. “The future of our society depends on safeguarding our youth from the menace of drugs,” he said, emphasizing the need for community involvement and awareness.

Highlighting progress under the ongoing 100-day anti-drug अभियान, Sinha revealed that around 350 FIRs have been registered and over 450 drug peddlers arrested across Jammu and Kashmir within just 20 days of the drive.

Officials stated that intensified enforcement, awareness campaigns, and coordinated action among agencies are key components of the initiative. The administration is focusing on both supply reduction and demand control to tackle the issue comprehensively.

The rally witnessed participation from students, officials, and members of civil society, who pledged support for building a drug-free Jammu & Kashmir.

Authorities reiterated that strict action against those involved in drug trafficking will continue, alongside efforts to rehabilitate affected individuals and promote awareness at the grassroots level.
