June 21: LG Manoj SInha remarked: This year’s International Yoga Day carried a deeply resonant message through its global theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, echoing the far-sighted vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The theme underlines India’s commitment to a holistic and inclusive approach to health that goes beyond individual wellness to embrace collective global well-being.
In alignment with the theme, the message shared by leaders and practitioners across the country reaffirmed that Yoga, as a timeless Indian tradition, has always focused on the physical, mental, and spiritual balance of an individual, while simultaneously fostering harmony with nature. Speaking on the occasion, dignitaries emphasized that Prime Minister Modi’s relentless efforts have not only popularized yoga internationally but have positioned it as a universal solution for sustainable living and holistic health.
Rooted in India’s ancient ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family—Yoga bridges cultures, communities, and continents. “Our ancient values always emphasised the well-being of all individuals and encourage a holistic approach to health and happiness through Yoga,” leaders reiterated across events nationwide.
Yoga sessions held in cities and villages, at historical landmarks and international embassies, brought together people from diverse backgrounds, strengthening global unity and cultural pride. Demonstrations of asanas, breathing techniques, and meditation highlighted how Yoga can effectively manage modern challenges like stress, anxiety, and lifestyle diseases.
As India led the world once again in celebrating the International Day of Yoga, the focus remained clear: wellness is not a luxury, but a necessity; not isolated, but interconnected. The theme reminded every citizen that personal health is inseparable from planetary health, and through Yoga, both can thrive in harmony.
