JULY 21:Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha visited the Baltal Base Camp to review the arrangements and preparations for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. His visit was aimed at ensuring that all facilities for the pilgrims are in place, and that safety and convenience remain the top priorities for the administration during this sacred pilgrimage.
During the visit, the Lieutenant Governor chaired a detailed review meeting with the Camp Director, officials from the district administration, police, and security agencies. Discussions were held on measures being implemented to facilitate the smooth and organized movement of pilgrims. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of coordination among all stakeholders to ensure a hassle-free experience for the devotees.
The Lieutenant Governor also examined the mud-slide preventive measures put in place to avoid any disruptions or risks along the route. He reviewed various arrangements for the pilgrims, including provisions for comfortable accommodation, hygienic food, healthcare services, connectivity, sanitation, water and power supply, traffic management, and on-spot registration facilities.
In his interactions with pilgrims and service providers, LG Sinha sought feedback on the ground-level facilities and services. He directed officials to promptly address any concerns or shortcomings to ensure an improved experience for the devotees. He also took stock of the preparedness and response mechanisms of various departments to deal with weather-related challenges and directed that extra caution and preventive measures be taken at vulnerable points along the yatra route.
At the Baltal Base Camp hospital, the Lieutenant Governor personally interacted with doctors, medical staff, and paramedics. He inspected the healthcare facilities and emergency medical arrangements in place for the pilgrims. He expressed appreciation for the dedication of healthcare teams working tirelessly in challenging conditions to safeguard the well-being of pilgrims.
Lauding the collective efforts of all departments, security forces, and agencies involved in managing the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, LG Manoj Sinha praised their commitment to ensuring a safe, smooth, and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage for devotees from across the nation. He reaffirmed that the administration is fully prepared to handle all aspects of the yatra, from safety measures to essential amenities, so that the journey remains both memorable and seamless.
