RAMBAN, APRIL 19: In view of Holy month Ramzan and upcoming auspicious occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr, the enforcement departments on Wednesday intensified market checking drives across Ramban district on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam.
A market checking drive was conducted by a joint team of FCS&CA Department, Revenue Department along with police department in Ramban area. A fine of Rs. 15400 was recovered on spot from erring shopkeepers, vegetable and fruit vendors etc.
The inspection team checked the quality of food and edible products like milk and milk products, sweets, meat, chicken, fruits and vegetables.
They also destroyed spoiled fruits and vegetables. The shopkeepers and vendors were directed to maintain hygiene and quality of eatables and also ensure display of price list of the commodities.
Similar checking drives were also conducted at various Tehsil headquarters of district Ramban where the checking squads inspected various shops and checked the quality of eatables.
