Media Urged to Uphold Unity and Patriotism Before Tiranga Rally

AUG 08: In the run-up to Independence Day 2025, the Deputy Commissioner of Doda, Shri Harvinder Singh (IAS), and Senior Superintendent of Police, Shri Sandeep Kumar Mehta (JKPS), held an interactive session with media representatives from the district. The interaction aimed to foster mutual understanding and coordination ahead of the Tiranga Rally and other celebratory events planned across the district.

Both officers underscored the critical role the media plays in shaping public perception and maintaining social harmony, particularly during national events. They urged journalists and media houses to practice responsible journalism, focusing on reporting that strengthens truth, unity, and patriotism.

DC Harvinder Singh appreciated the ongoing efforts of the press in keeping citizens informed and engaged, especially in remote areas of the district. SSP Mehta also highlighted the importance of avoiding sensationalism and promoting constructive narratives that reflect the spirit of national pride.

The officials emphasized that Independence Day is not just a ceremonial occasion but a time to rekindle the values of sacrifice, freedom, and unity. They encouraged the media to use their platforms to inspire civic responsibility and community participation during the upcoming celebrations.
