JUNE 05: In a proactive outreach aimed at addressing critical governance and developmental concerns, Minister Satish Sharma held a series of meetings with various public delegations and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). The meetings, which took place at a government office earlier this week, centered around pressing public demands and policy issues concerning employment, infrastructure, and civic welfare.
Delegations from different sectors and constituencies raised a wide array of issues with the minister. Chief among these were calls for the regularization of jobs for contractual and daily-wage employees across multiple departments. Delegation members emphasized the uncertainty faced by temporary workers, and requested that the government implement long-awaited policies to secure their employment status and welfare benefits.
Discussions also included the development of sports infrastructure in both urban and rural areas. MLAs and community representatives highlighted the lack of adequate facilities for youth, calling for new stadiums, training centers, and recreational spaces to nurture talent and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Public transport upgrades and civic development were also key topics. Delegations pointed to inadequate connectivity in remote regions, poor road conditions, and the urgent need for improved sanitation, water supply, and waste management systems. Suggestions were made for expanding the public transport fleet and enhancing urban planning efforts in growing towns.
Minister Satish Sharma gave a patient hearing to all concerns raised during the sessions. He assured the delegations and legislators that the government remains committed to inclusive growth and the welfare of all citizens, especially employees and underserved communities. “We are working on a framework that ensures timely redressal of genuine concerns, with special focus on job security, infrastructure development, and civic improvements,” he said.
He further directed concerned departments to prepare detailed follow-up reports and proposals, and emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among administrative units to address the issues raised.
The interactions were seen as a welcome step by all participants, reflecting the government’s intention to maintain open channels of communication with stakeholders. Delegation members appreciated the minister’s responsive approach and expressed optimism about the timely implementation of the assurances given.
