May 17 : In a proactive move to accelerate development and improve local infrastructure, Minister Satish Sharma carried out an extensive development tour of the Chhamb constituency in Jammu and Kashmir. The visit focused on both launching key public utility projects and directly engaging with residents to understand their concerns.
As a major highlight of the tour, Minister Sharma laid the foundation stone for a Block Public Health Unit (BPHU) at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Maira Mandrian. This important initiative is expected to bolster healthcare infrastructure in the region by enhancing access to essential health services. The new facility will serve as a critical hub for disease monitoring, diagnostics, and public health planning, benefiting thousands of residents.
In addition to the health initiative, Minister Sharma inaugurated several other development works aimed at improving public utility infrastructure. These include new drinking water facilities, upgraded road networks, and electrification efforts in underserved villages. The projects reflect the government’s broader aim to ensure inclusive development and improve living standards across the region.
During his tour, the Minister also held open interactions with local residents, community leaders, and Panchayati Raj Institution members. He listened attentively to public grievances related to healthcare, education, road infrastructure, and employment opportunities. Minister Sharma assured the public that necessary steps will be taken promptly to resolve issues and improve service delivery mechanisms.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said, “Our goal is to deliver development that is both impactful and inclusive. The foundation stone we laid today for the BPHU at PHC Maira Mandrian marks a significant step towards strengthening healthcare in rural areas. We are also committed to ensuring timely resolution of all public concerns.”
