JULY 20: Minister Satish Sharma conducted an extensive review of ongoing development works in Chhamb, with a sharp focus on meeting the core needs of the public, especially in water supply, electricity, and healthcare services.
In a high-level meeting with concerned department officials, the Minister emphasized the urgency of completing projects on time without compromising quality standards. He stressed that delays in critical infrastructure hurt rural communities the most, especially during the harsh summer months.
Highlighting the pressing issue of water scarcity, Minister Sharma directed the Jal Shakti Department to step up efforts to augment the water supply across affected areas. He instructed officials to immediately repair all defunct water infrastructure, including hand pumps, pipelines, and storage tanks, to ensure that residents receive consistent and clean drinking water.
Addressing concerns over electricity disruptions, he asked the Power Department to take preemptive steps to ensure uninterrupted power supply. This includes timely upgrades of aging transformers and power lines, as well as deploying quick-response maintenance teams to address faults swiftly.
As the monsoon season sets in, Sharma also reviewed the region’s health preparedness. He called on the Health Department to initiate preventive measures against seasonal diseases, especially vector-borne illnesses such as dengue and malaria. He directed regular fogging in vulnerable areas, the distribution of awareness materials, and an intensified sanitation campaign to maintain hygiene in both urban and rural pockets.
Minister Sharma reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to inclusive and equitable development. He assured the local population that their grievances would be addressed promptly and that no community would be left behind in the development journey.
He urged all departments to maintain coordination, prioritize public welfare, and regularly monitor field-level progress. Locals expressed appreciation for the outreach and welcomed the assurance of timely service delivery and project completion.
