My Vote My Right: Kathua administration’s social media campaign encourages huge participation of citizens

KATHUA, APRIL 19: Continuing its efforts to promote voters’ participation, the Kathua administration is implementing innovative SVEEP activities as part of the ongoing SSR. The District Election Officer, Rahul Pandey, has been leading the efforts to ensure that every eligible voter in the district exercises his democratic right.

 

The administration has been conducting several awareness campaigns, including the ‘Pledge to Vote’ initiative, which aims to motivate voters to take a pledge to participate in the electoral process.

 

To reach out to the youth, the administration has launched a series of voter education programs in colleges and universities across the district. These programs aim to inform young voters about the importance of voting and to encourage them to register as voters.

 

Pertinently, ECI has issued a revised schedule under which claim and objections shall be taken till 06 May 2023, Claims and objections shall be disposed by 15 May 2023 and Final publication of Electoral Rolls shall be held on 27 May 2023.

 

The SVEEP campaign has also been utilizing social media platforms to create awareness about voting, information about the electoral process, voter registration, and means of updation. The administration has also launched a social media campaign, #My Vote My Right, to encourage citizens to participate in the electoral process.

 

To ensure that voters in remote and inaccessible areas are not left behind, the administration has set up special voter facilitation centres in these areas. These centres provide assistance to voters in the registration process and help them with any queries related to the electoral process.

 

“The Kathua administration is committed to ensure that every eligible voter exercises their democratic right. We are constantly exploring innovative methods to drive voter participation and make the electoral process more accessible and inclusive”, said District Election Officer Rahul Pandey.
