MAY 30: In line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to promote good governance and excellence in public administration, the 27th National Good Governance Webinar under the 2025–26 series was conducted by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) on 30th May 2025. This ongoing webinar series is part of the Prime Minister’s directive to facilitate the dissemination and replication of best practices by inviting past award winners of the PM’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration to present their initiatives.
Since April 2022, DARPG has conducted one webinar every month, bringing the total to 27 sessions. These webinars serve as a national platform where District Collectors, senior officials from state and central governments, and faculty from administrative training institutes come together to learn from successful, award-winning governance initiatives. Each session typically sees participation from over 1,000 officials across State Governments, Line Departments, Central Ministries, and Training Institutes.
The 27th webinar focused on the theme ‘Holistic Development of Districts’ and featured presentations of two initiatives that were awarded the PM’s Award in 2024. The first initiative, from Rajkot District, Gujarat, was presented by Shri Prabhav Joshi, District Magistrate & Collector. The second, from Gomati District, Tripura, was presented by Ms. Rimita Saha, Assistant Collector. Both initiatives exemplify innovative, scalable, and sustainable governance models with positive impacts on district development.
The webinar was chaired by Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary, DARPG, and attended by Additional Secretary, Joint Secretaries, and other senior officers of the department. Significantly, the session was attended from over 1300 locations across the country, reaffirming the wide reach and growing engagement with this national knowledge-sharing effort.
Each webinar not only showcases the institutionalisation and sustainability of these award-winning initiatives but also tracks their replication and adaptation across other districts and states. By creating an interactive platform, the series helps promote a culture of continuous improvement, capacity building, and policy innovation at the grassroots level.
The 27th webinar stands as a testimony to the Government’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and service delivery, and reflects the larger objective of transforming India’s administrative landscape through shared learning and collective action.
