Plan for ADF, AB&AP for year 2023-24 approved at Kulgam

KULGAM, MAY 03: In order to discuss and finalize developmental plan under Area Development Fund (ADF), Aspirational Block and Aspirational Panchayats for year 2023-24, a meeting of District Development Council Kulgam was today held here under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat at Resthouse Chawalgam, here.

 

DDC Chairperson Mohammad Afzal Parrey was present in the meeting.

 

At the outset, JD Planning Zahid Sajjad apprised the council about the achievements of last financial year 2022-23 besides listing the projects of vital importance completed within stipulated time.

 

He informed that during the financial year 2022-23, 2300 works under District Capex were completed with an expenditure of Rs. 61.07 crore.

 

It was also informed that 90 of funds stands also utilised under CSS schemes and almost 16000 works were completed under MGNREGA at a cost of Rs 54 crore.

 

During the meeting, the council was also informed that under the JJM programme out of 61267 FHTCs, 34000 connections have been provided and by the end of June the district shall achieve the target of 51000 connections through completion of various works under the programme which is in full swing right now.

 

After a threadbare discussion, the council approved plans of Area Development Fund, Aspirational Block and Aspirational Panchayats for year 2023-24 of Rs. 57.32 crore which has been formulated by DDC, BDC and Panchayat Raj Institutions after holding Gram Sabhas and in compliance to Panchayat Raj Act.

 

The DDC informed the council that the district has an achievement of almost 90% under various programmes implemented in the district which is also reflected through the deliverables of the various departments.

 

The focus areas of plan 2023-24 have been Skill Development, Education, Health, Power Development, Agriculture, Rural Infrastructure, Sports and other vital sectors.

 

Speaking on the occasion the DDC said that PRIs have an instrumental role in development and will explore every possibility for productive utilization of resources.

 

He added that PRIs and District Administration will work in coordination and cohesion so as to develop the district on various fronts.

 

The meeting was attended by ADDC, DDC members, JD-Planning, ACD, BDC Chairpersons and other officers.
