28 April: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹4,000 crore during the 50th Statehood Day celebrations of Sikkim, marking a major boost to the state’s infrastructure and economic growth.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted Sikkim’s journey over the past five decades, praising its achievements in sustainable development, environmental conservation, and tourism.
