Rajeev Ranjan Inaugurates Mission YUVA’s Technical Training for Jammu’s Small Business Development Units

MARCH 25:The Labour and Employment Department of Jammu and Kashmir launched a three-day technical training program for Small Business Development Units (SBDU) and Business Help Desk Units (BHU) in the Jammu division today. The program, held at Udyog Bhawan, is part of the Mission YUVA initiative, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and enhancing employment opportunities across the region.

Administrative Secretary of the Labour and Employment Department, Rajeev Ranjan, was the chief guest at the event. In his keynote address, he emphasized the importance of SBDUs and BHUs in fostering entrepreneurship and economic development. He motivated the participants to adopt a positive approach, ensuring they deliver maximum results as part of Mission YUVA.

The training program is designed to improve the capabilities of business development units and provide valuable insights into the government’s mission of fostering entrepreneurship in Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 266 participants from various SBDU and BHU units, spanning district and sub-division levels, are attending the sessions. The training is expected to equip these units with the skills needed to contribute effectively to the region’s economic growth.

Shahzad Alam, Director of Employment and Mission Director for Mission YUVA, addressed the participants in his inaugural speech. He stressed the significance of understanding the scheme’s goals and encouraged the attendees to make the most of the training to bring those goals to fruition. Alam also highlighted the potential impact of Mission YUVA in transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a thriving entrepreneurial hub.

Dr. Murtaza Rashid, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Mission Youth/YUVA, gave an in-depth overview of the program, emphasizing the four strategic pillars: ecosystem creation, capital, capacity building, and connectivity. These interventions are designed to unlock the region’s entrepreneurial potential and ensure the success of the initiative.

Mission YUVA is a flagship program of the Jammu and Kashmir government aimed at creating 137,000 entrepreneurial units, which will generate employment for approximately 425,000 individuals over five years. The program envisions transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a vibrant entrepreneurial hub, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, and creating diverse employment opportunities.

The training program includes various sessions, such as an in-depth overview of the Mission YUVA scheme, guidance on using the Yuva portal and app, training on preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPR), and sessions on credit facilitation. Experts from renowned institutions, including NABARD, J&K Bank, Skill Development, and other partners, are leading the sessions, ensuring participants gain valuable knowledge to implement Mission YUVA effectively. This initiative aims to provide the necessary skills to SBDU and BHU members, enabling them to play a pivotal role in the region’s economic growth and job creation.
