October 7, 2026: Jammu and Kashmir BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma participated in the Seva Jyoti Yatra in Jammu on Wednesday as part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life.

The yatra was taken out from KK Resort in Jammu to Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Chowk, bringing together party workers and participants around the themes of public service, nationalism and nation-building.

Sat Sharma Highlights Spirit of Public Service

The Seva Jyoti Yatra is part of a wider campaign being organised across Jammu and Kashmir. Sat Sharma had earlier said that the initiative was intended to connect the spirit of public service with people and encourage greater participation in nation-building.

He said the Seva Jyoti Yatras were being organised across all 20 administrative districts of Jammu and Kashmir, with participation expected from citizens, civil society members, youth and people from different sections of society.

The campaign carries the message of “Sewa for Society, Sewa for Nation”, with participants also carrying the Tricolour as part of the programme.

Yatra Marks 25 Years of PM Modi’s Public Life

October 7 has been designated as an important date in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan as it marks 25 years since Narendra Modi entered public office as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001.

The Seva Jyoti Yatra is being organised as part of activities marking this milestone and the broader campaign running during the period associated with Modi’s birthday and his years of public service.

Focus on Public Participation and Nation-Building

The Jammu programme highlighted the campaign’s focus on encouraging people to associate themselves with activities centred on service and civic participation.

The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan has included a range of grassroots programmes in Jammu and Kashmir, with party leaders emphasising public outreach, welfare awareness and participation in community-oriented activities.

The Seva Jyoti Yatra in Jammu was also presented as an opportunity to reinforce the message of collective responsibility and participation in the development of the country.
