May 31: In a stirring display of military leadership and gratitude, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi conducted a critical operational review in Jammu & Kashmir’s Paragwal Sector, reinforcing the Army’s continued commitment to national security in one of the country’s most volatile regions. During his visit, the General also reviewed the Tiger Division’s preparedness and commended the troops for their resolute role in Operation Sindoor, a high-stakes mission that has become a defining symbol of coordinated defence excellence.

General Dwivedi’s visit comes in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor’s successful execution—an operation that not only neutralized threats but also reaffirmed the unmatched synergy between the Indian Army and the Border Security Force (BSF). The COAS was emphatic in his praise for this integration, highlighting how joint force cooperation has emerged as a strategic cornerstone in safeguarding border integrity. He called for continued agility and unwavering vigilance, citing the ever-evolving nature of security threats along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border.

Particularly notable was the COAS’s tribute to Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari and her team, whose fearless defence of forward posts in the Akhnoor Sector earned widespread admiration. Her leadership under fire has become a beacon of inspiration not only for BSF personnel but for the broader defence community. Gen Dwivedi’s recognition of her actions underscores the expanding role and valor of women in active defence roles—no longer just symbolic but operationally vital.

In a gesture that resonated deeply, the COAS also acknowledged the contributions of ex-servicemen who played a supportive role during Operation Sindoor. Their unwavering commitment and readiness to aid in national missions speak volumes of a defence culture where duty transcends active service.

This visit was not merely ceremonial—it was a reaffirmation of India’s strategic focus, a salute to its soldiers’ courage, and a call for perpetual preparedness. As Operation Sindoor enters the pages of military history, it will do so not just as a tactical success, but as a shining example of joint force unity, grassroots valor, and a nation standing tall behind its defenders.
