Sanjeev Verma reviews status of Special Summary Revision at Rajouri

RAJOURI, NOVEMBER 9: Commissioner Secretary, Forest, Ecology, and Environment, Sanjeev Verma, who has been appointed as Electoral Roll Observer for Rajouri district along with other districts, today chaired a meeting to review progress on Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with reference to October 1, 2022, as the qualifying date.

 

The meeting was informed that there are 5 ACs having 644 total polling stations spread across 540 locations. Besides, the total electors as per draft E-Roll 2022 are 419656, while the total projected population is 831953.

 

The meeting was also informed that out of 68974 forms. 06 have been received, 68645 stands punched while 36583 have been disposed of in the district. Similarly, progress on form number 06 (18-19 age group), form number 06 (19 and above) form number 07, form number 08 and form number 06B was reviewed in detail. The meeting was also informed that a multi-layered checking by DEO and ERO is being done in the district to verify the correctness of the Electoral Rolls.

 

While taking stock of field visits by the booth level Officers for ascertaining corrections in the forms, the meeting was apprised that the corrections are being done on the basis of field visits of Booth level Officers.

 

A threadbare discussion on other parameters was also held during the meeting.

 

Electoral Roll Observer instructed the Election authorities in the district to conduct revision strictly in accordance with the Election Commission of India guidelines and schedule and complete the process within the given timeline.

 

He exhorted upon the DEOs to take extra care while making the addition of new voters/left out voters and deletion of duplicate voters to avoid errors and completion of the process before the due date, and directed the Booth Level Officers to ensure field visits for any corrections in the Electoral Rolls.
