JUNE 08: Former Jammu & Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik, aged 78, is currently hospitalised in critical condition, as revealed in a recent post he made on social media platform X. In the update, Malik shared an image of himself lying in a hospital bed and described his health status as “very bad.” He confirmed that he is undergoing dialysis and expressed serious concern about his well-being.

Though his health was described as critical, reports indicate that he is being closely monitored by a senior neurologist. He is currently admitted to a neurology department, where his condition is said to be stable but serious. Malik reportedly entered the hospital two days prior to the public announcement.

Satya Pal Malik is a veteran politician who has held several key administrative roles across India. Over his long political career, he has served as the Governor of multiple states, including Bihar, Odisha, Goa, Meghalaya, and notably, Jammu & Kashmir. He has also been a Member of Parliament in both houses and a legislator in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.

His tenure as the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir is particularly significant, as he held office during a transformative period that saw the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, which revoked the region’s special constitutional status.

Following his health update, concern has poured in from various quarters. Supporters, colleagues, and the public have expressed their prayers and well wishes for his recovery. Many took to social media to share messages of support, acknowledging his long-standing service to the nation.

The fact that he is undergoing dialysis indicates severe kidney dysfunction, a condition often requiring regular and intensive medical intervention. Being treated in a neurology ward suggests that he may also be facing neurological complications, which necessitate expert care and continuous observation.

As the former governor continues to battle these serious health challenges, his family and medical team remain committed to providing the best care possible. His supporters across the country are hoping for a full and speedy recovery, as the nation watches closely.
