APRIL 12: In a move to ensure a seamless and comfortable experience for Indian pilgrims during the upcoming Haj 2025, Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, is currently on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The purpose of the visit is to oversee and review the ongoing preparations being made to accommodate the Indian Haj pilgrims and assess the facilities being arranged in Makkah, Madinah, and other key locations associated with the annual pilgrimage.
During his review, Dr. Kumar expressed satisfaction over the arrangements being put in place, particularly highlighting the hygienic and stress-free stay facilities as a major achievement. He emphasized that the Indian government, in coordination with the Saudi authorities, is working diligently to ensure a spiritually fulfilling and logistically smooth experience for all Indian pilgrims attending Haj 2025.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in Jeddah and the Haj Committee of India, has been making proactive efforts to streamline various aspects of the pilgrimage, including accommodation, transport, medical facilities, food arrangements, and guidance services.
Dr. Kumar’s inspection included visits to buildings and facilities designated for Indian pilgrims, where he reviewed cleanliness standards, safety protocols, and accessibility arrangements. He also held meetings with key officials from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to discuss further improvements and to ensure close coordination between the two countries in the lead-up to the pilgrimage.
The Secretary assured that the welfare of Indian pilgrims remains a top priority and reiterated the government’s commitment to provide all necessary support. He added that special attention is being given to elderly pilgrims and those with medical conditions to ensure they receive the care and assistance they need during the journey.
This visit marks an important step in the comprehensive planning process for Haj 2025, as both logistical readiness and pilgrim comfort are being emphasized in the overall strategy. Regular updates and advisories will be issued to keep pilgrims well-informed and prepared for their spiritual journey.
With the preparations progressing smoothly, Haj 2025 is expected to offer a significantly improved experience for Indian devotees traveling to the holy land.
