Doda, September 13, 2026: Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma met several public delegations during his visit to Doda and listened to their concerns and grievances.

The delegations raised various issues affecting local residents, following which Sharma assured them that their genuine concerns would be taken up with the concerned authorities and pursued at the appropriate forums.

Public Grievances Discussed in Detail

During the interactions, Sharma heard the delegations at length and reviewed the issues brought before him. He assured the representatives that matters requiring administrative intervention would be communicated to the concerned departments for necessary action.

He also stressed the importance of addressing genuine public grievances at the earliest so that people do not face unnecessary difficulties in accessing government services and resolving their day-to-day concerns.

Issues to Be Raised in Assembly Session

The Leader of Opposition further assured the delegations that their concerns would be strongly raised during the upcoming Assembly Session.

The assurance assumes significance as the Assembly provides an important platform for elected representatives to bring local issues to the attention of the government and seek responses from the concerned departments.

Sharma said that the concerns shared by people during such public interactions would remain part of his efforts to represent their interests in the Assembly.

BJP Says It Will Continue Public Outreach

During the interaction, Sharma reiterated the BJP’s position that the party would continue to remain engaged with people across Jammu and Kashmir.

He also said the BJP would continue raising public grievances and questioning the functioning of the National Conference-led government on issues concerning the people.

The meeting in Doda reflects the opposition party’s continuing focus on grassroots outreach and direct interaction with residents, particularly ahead of the upcoming Assembly proceedings.

Focus on Representation and Accountability

Public meetings with delegations remain an important channel for elected representatives to understand issues at the local level. Such interactions also allow grievances concerning administration and development to be brought into legislative discussions.

Sharma’s Doda visit highlighted his assurance of taking up the concerns raised by local delegations and seeking appropriate action from the administration.

With the Assembly Session approaching, the issues discussed during the meetings are expected to form part of the wider political and legislative discourse in Jammu and Kashmir.
