SVEEP: GDC Marheen organises special camp to promote voter literacy

KATHUA, APRIL 15: The Voter Literacy Club, in collaboration with IQAC cell of Government Degree College Marheen, today organized an awareness campaign on Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) in the village Choupal near Marheen pond.

 

The programme was organized under the patronage of Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta. In her address, she encouraged the students to make their

 

Voter cards and participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election schedule for the year 2024. She also laid stress on the need to educate the general public about the importance and duty of casting their votes.

 

The programme was organized and supervised by Physical Director Mr. Pardeep, and Dr. Sonika Jasrotia. The other faculty members presented in the programme were Prof. Deepak Gupta and Ms. Shobhana Sharma.

 

On the occasion a campaign among the general masses on Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was conducted by the students and staff in the village. During the campaign, a motivational lecture by Sachin Kumar; a student of 2nd semester wherein he briefed the audience about the importance of their right to vote besides the role of every citizen in this national festival “Desh ka Maha tyohaar” and persuaded them to take part in it.
