APRIL 11: The vibrant two-day Flower Show organized under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, concluded today at the picturesque Jakhani Park, drawing overwhelming response and admiration from the public. The event, which showcased a vivid celebration of nature and culture, turned the scenic park into a floral paradise, attracting visitors from all corners of the district.

The show featured a mesmerizing display of blooming flowers arranged with creative finesse by various departments, local organizations, and florists. The atmosphere was made even more engaging by a series of cultural activities that brought together community members, students, and local artists in celebration of nature’s beauty and artistic expression.

On the concluding day, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he praised the efforts of all departments involved in organizing the event and noted that such initiatives are essential not only for promoting eco-consciousness but also for fostering social unity and creative engagement. “Events like these are not just about flowers—they celebrate our connection to nature while raising awareness through artistic expression,” he said.

One of the key attractions on the second day was the captivating lineup of cultural performances presented by local talent, artists from the Information Department, and students from various educational institutions. The performances highlighted the region’s rich cultural heritage and added a festive touch to the event.

The major highlight of the day was a thought-provoking Nukkad Natak (street play) performed with great energy and passion, focusing on the ill effects of drug abuse. The performance resonated deeply with the audience, effectively delivering a strong message on the urgent need for a drug-free society and the role of youth and community in combating substance abuse.

The event was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, heads of various departments, students, and a large number of local residents. It concluded on a high note, leaving visitors with a sense of joy, community pride, and renewed appreciation for both the natural world and the importance of public awareness campaigns.

With beautiful memories and impactful messages, the Flower Show stood out as a true blend of beauty, creativity, and social consciousness.
