Feb 19: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
In his message, Mr Shah bowed to the great Maratha warrior king and remembered his unparalleled contribution to nation-building, good governance and cultural pride. He described Shivaji Maharaj as a symbol of courage, self-respect and visionary leadership.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire, is revered for establishing a strong and progressive administration while safeguarding the interests of his people. His military strategy, naval strength and emphasis on fort architecture remain significant chapters in Indian history.
The Union Home Minister highlighted that Shivaji Maharaj’s ideals of justice, bravery and commitment to dharma continue to inspire generations. He said the Maratha ruler’s life stands as a guiding force for building a strong and self-reliant India.
Across Maharashtra and several other parts of the country, tributes are being paid to the legendary warrior king on his Jayanti. Cultural programmes, processions and commemorative events are being organised to honour his enduring legacy.
