DODA, MAY 31: To listen to the issues and grievances of the people, Public Outreach Programmes, under the weekly Block Diwas program, were held today at three different locations across Doda district. The weekly Block Diwas program was held at Block Headquarter Bhaderwah, Panchayat Kharangal; Sub Division Gandoh, Panchayat Chilli and Sub Division Assar.
At Bhaderwah, the outreach programme was chaired by ADC Chowdhary Dil Mir, at Panchayat Kharangal, while SDM Gandoh Arun Kumar Badyal presided over the outreach camp at Panchayat Chilli and SDM Assar Lekh Raj chaired the program at Assar.
Block Diwas is aimed at getting first-hand appraisal of the problems and development aspirations of the people. It also aims to ensure equitable development of rural and urban areas by fulfilling popular aspirations of the people.
Block Diwas program is being organised weekly, on every Wednesday at different locations of the district, to reach out to the people and listen to their grievances, aspirations, and demands. Several public delegations, individuals besides PRI members, projected the local demands and problems being faced by the public at all the four locations today.
Public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity supply line, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, etc. The presiding officers of the Block Diwas, along with officers in charge of all the departments, gave patient hearing to the issues and demands and assured to resolve all the genuine demands/ issues at the earliest.
