Jammu District Administration Launches Campaign on New Criminal Laws

FEBRUARY 25: The District Administration Jammu launched an awareness campaign today to educate officials and the public on the three newly introduced criminal laws—the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).

Organised by the direction of District Magistrate Jammu, these awareness programs will take place at the block level during the second and fourth weeks of every month.

As part of the campaign, awareness programs were conducted today at BDO Office Akhnoor and JKTDC Building Surinsar. More sessions shall be held tomorrow, February 25, at BDO Office Bhalwal Brahmana, BDO Office Marh and Revenue Training Institute Gole Gujral Jammu.

Experts from the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and the Police Department are acting as resource persons in these sessions, providing insights into the new legal framework and its implications. Officials from the Revenue, Rural Development, Social Welfare, School Education and Health Departments are also participating to ensure widespread dissemination of information.

The schedule and venues for future sessions will be shared through the official Facebook and Twitter (X) accounts of the District Magistrate Jammu.
