Special Lok Adalat held at Poonch

POONCH, OCTOBER 21: Lok Adalat, under supervision of Supreme Court and High Court of J&K was organized today in District Courts Poonch, in which Judicial Officers, Bar Members, Bank Employees, litigants and general public participated with full enthusiasm.

While starting Lok Adalat, the Chairman DLSA Poonch, Ashok Kumar Shavan (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge) highlighted the positive aspects of Lok Adalat and described it as the need of the hour and stressed upon the general public to come forward to take benefit of these Lok Adalat.

At District H.Q, three benches were constituted. The First bench was presided over by Sh. Ashok Kumar Shavan Chairman DLSA (Pr. Distt &Sessions Judge) Poonch and assisted by Mohammad Aslam Chouhan Poonch.

The Second Bench was presided over by Sh. Madan Lal CJM (Chairman TLSC Poonch) and assisted by Wajahat Hussain Kazmi, Secretary DLSA Poonch.

Third Bench was presided over by Sarfraz Nawaz, Special mobile magistrate Poonch and assisted by Advocate Mukhter Ahmed Poonch.

The Surankote bench was presided Manzoor Ahmed Khan, Chairman TLSC, and assisted by Tabraiz Ahmed Addl. Mob. Magistrate. The Mendhar bench was presided by. Shazia Choudhary, Chairman TLSC (JMIC) Mendhar.

A total 104 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat including civil, criminal, MACT, Bank Recovery, Pre-Litigation and other cases. Out of these 87 cases were settled by all the above mentioned benches by way of Mediation, Conciliation and compromise. In 2 MACT cases, 33 Criminal cases, 18 civil cases were also decided and a total amount of Rs. 1330960/-was settled. Light refreshment was also served to all the participants.
