The mission also focuses on creating integrated public health labs and expanding critical care services.

Alongside this, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) under Ayushman Bharat provides free health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year to eligible beneficiaries for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization. With the launch of Ayushman Bharat card distribution in Delhi, lakhs of people will now be able to access affordable and quality healthcare services in both public and empaneled private hospitals.

The Prime Minister’s remarks underscore the commitment of the Central Government to ensuring that the benefits of national health schemes reach every citizen, regardless of region. The synergy between the Centre and Delhi Government on this front marks a significant stride towards universal health coverage and equitable healthcare access.
