APRIL 28: In a swift and compassionate response to a tragic fire incident in Ward No. 21 of Kathua, the District Administration, led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kathua, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, provided immediate relief and support to the affected families. The devastating fire completely engulfed and destroyed twelve jhuggis (makeshift huts), leaving several families homeless and in urgent need of assistance.

Understanding the critical nature of the situation, the District Administration acted promptly to organize and distribute essential relief materials to each of the twelve affected families. Immediate supplies, including food items, clothing, bedding, and other basic necessities, were provided to ensure that the families’ immediate needs were met without delay.

A dedicated team from the District Administration visited the site to assess the damage firsthand and to offer emotional and logistical support to the victims. Expressing deep sympathy with the affected families, an official from the administration stated, “The loss faced by these families is truly heartbreaking.
