MAY 01: Renowned Nobel Peace Laureate Shri Kailash Satyarthi delivered an inspiring keynote address during the seventeenth edition of the Re-imagining Governance: Discourse for Excellence (RDGE) series, organized by PDUNASS, the apex training academy of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). The virtual event witnessed participation from EPFO officers and officials stationed across India.

The RDGE initiative, launched on “Good Governance Day” (25th December 2023), has evolved into a significant platform for discussing innovative ideas in public administration. It aims to foster trust, accountability, and a culture of excellence among civil servants.

Delivering his address from Bal Ashram in Jaipur, Shri Satyarthi emphasized the pressing need for compassionate governance rooted in empathy, moral integrity, and active listening. He warned that contemporary governance is increasingly detached from the human values it is meant to uphold and advocated for a return to moral responsibility and heartfelt public service. According to him, governance must prioritize human dignity and ethical decision-making over rigid procedures.

The session was chaired by Central PF Commissioner Shri Ramesh Krishnamoorthy and presided over by PDUNASS Director Shri Kumar Rohit. Shri Uttam Prakash, RPFC-I, moderated the proceedings. Shri Ajeet Kumar, Additional Central PF Commissioner (Rajasthan), extended a formal welcome and felicitated Shri Satyarthi at the Jaipur venue.

In his closing remarks, the Central PF Commissioner urged all EPFO officials to take a personal pledge to integrate at least one compassionate action into their daily administrative work—translating the session’s insights into meaningful workplace changes.

The RDGE platform has consistently brought forward eminent thought leaders to enrich the values and capacity of EPFO officials. Through these sessions, EPFO seeks to strengthen its commitment to ethical governance, people-centric service delivery, and continual professional development.

This edition with Shri Kailash Satyarthi stood out not only for its philosophical depth but also for its call to action—reminding public servants of their fundamental duty to serve with compassion, dignity, and integrity.
