AUG 01: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha attended the Qualifier 2 match of the Kashmir Super League (KSL) 2025 at TRC Ground in Srinagar. His presence at the buzzing venue marked a high point for the popular football tournament that has captured the hearts of Kashmir’s youth.

During the visit, the LG interacted with the players, coaches, and officials. He extended his congratulations to the J&K Sports Council and the sponsors for organizing such a successful event.

Speaking on the occasion, LG Sinha lauded the overwhelming public enthusiasm and the electrifying energy observed throughout the league. “The enthusiasm and passion witnessed over the past few days have been truly remarkable. A big thank you to all the enthusiastic fans and spectators who are cheering on the players,” he said.

Highlighting the cultural significance of football in the region, LG Sinha remarked, “Football holds a special place in the hearts of Kashmir’s youth; it’s more than just a sport, it’s a passion. It truly unites people and connects hearts. It is a symbol of brotherhood and unity.”

He further emphasized the role of sports in fostering peace and social cohesion. “In Jammu and Kashmir, sports have emerged as a powerful force for establishing peace, fostering unity, and nurturing brotherhood among youth,” he added.

The LG also conveyed his best wishes to the players, expressing hope that the KSL would serve as a stepping stone for aspiring footballers aiming to shine on national and international platforms.

As a token of appreciation, LG Sinha felicitated the franchise owners of the teams participating in the Kashmir Super League, acknowledging their vital role in promoting sports in the Union Territory.
