AUG 08: In a move aimed at strengthening India’s cultural storytelling and creative industries, the Publications Division of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting today launched a new Chhota Bheem comic series. The release, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, celebrates Indian narratives and supports young readers with engaging, value-based content.

Addressing the event, Shri Bhupendra Kainthola, Principal Director General, Publications Division, emphasized the importance of promoting stories rooted in Indian traditions. “In a land where storytelling has always been part of family and cultural life, especially through tales told in mother tongues, our children deserve stories that reflect Indian values,” he said.

Developed in collaboration with Green Gold Animation Pvt. Ltd., the series revives the beloved character Bheem, known for his strength, kindness, and courage in the fictional kingdom of Dholakpur. The stories aim to instill virtues such as friendship, bravery, and teamwork—deeply inspired by Indian folklore and ethos.

Shri Rajiv Chilaka, Founder & CEO of Green Gold Animation, acknowledged the government’s push through initiatives like WAVES 2025, which seek to bolster Indian content in animation, gaming, comics, and visual effects. “This support positions India to emerge as a creative powerhouse,” he said.

The new comic series aligns with the government’s vision to promote home-grown content across platforms, enhancing the creative economy while enriching the children’s literature space with relatable and culturally resonant characters.
