AUG 15: The Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Bani, Shri Sundeep Sharma (JKAS), today addressed a large and enthusiastic gathering during the Independence Day 2025 celebrations held at Government Higher Secondary School, Bani. The function was organised with great patriotic fervour and witnessed active participation from local residents, students, teachers, senior citizens and officials from various departments.
Beginning his speech amid loud applause, SDM Sharma congratulated the people of Bani on the 78th Independence Day and said that this historic day reminds all citizens of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters. In his inspiring address, he emphasised the importance of patriotism, social harmony and national unity. He urged everyone, especially the youth, to play a proactive role in nation-building by discharging their duties sincerely and working collectively for the larger good of society.
Highlighting the rich cultural and historical heritage of the nation, the SDM said that India’s progress and growth depend on the active involvement and cooperation of every citizen. He encouraged people to remain vigilant against divisive forces and to always uphold the ideals of secularism, brotherhood and peace.
He also spoke about various government welfare schemes being implemented in the region and urged people to avail themselves of the benefits. He expressed satisfaction over the positive developmental changes taking place in Bani and assured continued support from the administration for the welfare of the people.
Earlier, the celebrations began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. School students presented colourful cultural performances that depicted the spirit of freedom and patriotism. The audience responded with heartfelt appreciation and patriotic slogans.
The event concluded with the distribution of sweets and a vote of thanks, with participants leaving the venue inspired and filled with a renewed sense of pride and responsibility toward the nation.
