AUG 24: Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Atal Dulloo, conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing developmental works and welfare initiatives in Budgam, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensure timely completion of projects and accelerated growth in the district.
During his visit, the Chief Secretary distributed keys of subsidized tractors and modern farm machinery to local farmers under government-sponsored schemes. He highlighted that strengthening agriculture, horticulture, and livestock sectors will remain a top priority, as these are crucial for boosting rural incomes and enhancing the district’s economy.
Addressing youth empowerment, Dulloo stressed that creating employment opportunities and skill development avenues is central to the government’s agenda. He assured that Budgam will witness significant improvements in infrastructure, health facilities, and tourism, which will further open avenues for jobs and sustainable prosperity.
The Chief Secretary personally inspected several key infrastructure projects, including the District Hospital Budgam, the upcoming Critical Care Unit at Reshipora, and the Migrant Transit Accommodation at Kakanmaran. He directed officials to expedite work on these facilities to ensure they are completed within set timelines, enabling people to avail the benefits at the earliest.
Underscoring the potential of Budgam’s natural beauty, Dulloo emphasized the importance of tourism promotion. He said that developing the district’s tourism sector alongside agriculture will help generate both direct and indirect employment, while also contributing to socio-economic upliftment.
He reiterated that the government is committed to the overall growth of Budgam through sustained efforts in multiple sectors—agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure, and tourism. “The administration is focused on creating opportunities, improving services, and ensuring inclusive development so that every resident of Budgam can experience the benefits of progress,” Dulloo affirmed.
The review meeting and on-ground inspections reflect the administration’s resolve to accelerate developmental activities and welfare measures, ensuring that Budgam emerges as a model district in Jammu and Kashmir.
